Kingshot Best Hero Comp Beginners
Games like Kingshot have a meta that usually changes quite fast once more and more heroes enter the game. For now, the choices are quite limited, so we can easily determine what compositions are best suited for each game mode. This guide focuses on free-to-play players or players who spend very little.
The tricky part with Kingshot, is that the servers aren’t equal with content releases. This all has to do with the server age. New servers start with a limited number of heroes. After about 40-80 days, new heroes are released who change the compositions. With this in mind, don’t maximise every hero and plan ahead for a new batch of heroes.
Combat First 40 Days
When it comes to combat, balance is key. You need to have defensive tanks that can soak up damage. Damage is equally important, and ideally, you have good support/utility as well. A good combination of this can easily be achieved for free to play players.
Frontline (Tank/Damage soakers):
- Howard (infantry): This is your go-to F2P tank. He can soak up a lot of damage. Even more important he has the Joint Defense skill (increases defense for all heroes), and Defender’s Edge (reduces damage taken by all troops). Weaken is also a great skill as it lowers enemy attack. Howard is an incredible tank for both F2P and P2W.
- Chenko (Cavalry): Chenko is a very good hero early on. After the first 40 days she drops off a bit but still a hero that you should build early on. She brings Shield Wall (reduces damage taken by all troops) and Stand o Arms (increases squads lethality). Chenko is good pick for the other frontline slot if you are F2P

Backline (Damage/Control/Utility):
- Jabel (Cavalry): She is a login reward during the first week for new players. She brings good damage, control and buffs. Rally Flag (has a chance to decrease damage taken for all squads), Hero’s Domain (has a chance to increase squad damage) and Youthful Rage (increases squad lethality) are great skills to invest in. If you are F2P, Jabel is a no brainer. Only downside is that she is harder to ascend than R or SR heroes.
- Quinn (Archer): This guy brings a ton of damage to the table. He can take little damage in return but no matter, he should be quite safe at the back. Sixth Sense (reduces damage taken for all troops) and Precision Shot (increases damage done for all troops) are skills to invest in. Quinn is relatively easy to build. He offers value for all players.
Diana (Archer): Diana is slightly harder to build as you most likely have less hero shards to ascend her. She deals a lot of damage but her skills are less useful from combat point of view. Still, she is the one you should focus on if possible. Incendiary arrows (AOE damage to quickly clear minions) is a skill to focus on. She has a great passive stamina cost reduction, which makes expeditions much more efficient. You should first focus on building Quinn and Howard before going to Diana.

Note on Amadeus.
Amadeus is a very strong champion. You don’t have to spend a lot to unlock him. However, what you need to keep in mind is that to unlock his real power, you do need high VIP levels and shard investment. That is why we didn’t include him, as he requires a decent cash investment to truly shine.
Note on Helga.
Helga is easier to build than Amadeus. She is strong in the early game but once the server releases new heroes she is surpassed by better choices. If you want to spend a bit of money on Kingshot, Helga is a good choice for the first few months.
So, the best kingshot hero comp for beginners is quite straightforward. Keep in mind that ascending heroes is extremely important to get the most out of them. It might be that there are events that give you lots of shards from a hero not included in this list. In my opinion I would just go for it without investing to much in skills. Once you see that the hero fits your team, you can start leveling the skills.
Kingshot Gathering Resources Best Heroes
When it comes to gathering resources, there are a few heroes that are worth investing in. I can’t stress this enough, but if you play this game from time to time you should really invest in proper resource building. Leveling the right hero skills is a good way to do this.
- Seth (Infantry): Seth is all about increasing Iron gathering. Iron is probably the hardest to gather, so make sure to ascend and invest in Seth to maximise his gathering potential. Burnished Iron (increases the town’s iron output) and Craftsmanship (with Seth in the party, iron mining speed increases in the wilderness) are the skills to level.
- Edwin (Infantry): Edwin is very similar to Seth. Instead of iron, he boosts stone production. Demolitions Expert (increases the town’s quarry output) and Stone Mining (increases stone mining speed in the wilderness with Edwin in the party) are his resource gathering skills. I’m not a fan of Edwin in combat, so I would advise to leave the combat skills at a low level.
- Olive (Archer): Olive isn’t just about resources; at the beginning, she most likely goes in the combat party as well, as she is very easy to level. Olive is the go-to hero for bread. Green Thumb (increases the town’s mill output) and Forager’s Luck (increases bread gathering speed in the wilderness) are the gathering skills to invest in. However, focus on Seth and Edwin first as their resources are harder to gather.
- Forrest (Infantry): As his name indicates, Forrest is the wood gathering hero. Same as with bread, wood is normally less of a problem to gather than iron and stone. Woodland Inheritor (increases the Sawmills’ output) and Master Woodcutter (increases wood gathering speed with Forrest) are the resource skills to invest in.
